In the Eye of the Beholder
The painting is an honoring of a creature generally considered the epitome of ugliness. On closer look the enchanting visual of golden eyes and beautifully patterned skin of this lowly creature is revealed. The painting is 30 by 40 inches and has a minimalist shrimp colored frame.
Pickle lived with us one summer in my daughter's charge. Before we released him back into the wild, I decided I needed to capture what I felt was his great beauty in ways that most folks do not see or consider.
